THE GOOD KIND OF FEEDBACK

Nor-East'r Music & Art Festival

ERIC JANETSKY

The Nor-East’r Music & Arts Festival has used Temporary Kicks for the last 22 years. They provide amazing, professional sound as well as a great visual experience. Having a good sound crew and PA system can make or break a festival. It is safe to say that Temporary Kicks, ran by Carey Limberg and his crew, are as responsible for the festival’s long-running success as every musician that sets foot on the stage. They are reliable, trustworthy, professional… and they know their s***! Carey’s communication leading up to the festival is always fantastic and you can be confident that there will be no unwanted surprises. They are always prepared. I don’t ever want to think of a Nor-East’r Music & Arts Festival where Temporary Kicks is not running the sound!

As Executive Director of the Frankenmuth Arts Council, I’ve had the pleasure of working with Temporary Kicks for several years as part of our Frankenmuth Fire Arts Festival, and I can say without hesitation that they have been an outstanding partner. They are professional, reliable, and incredibly easy to work with, which makes a huge difference when coordinating an event. One of the things I appreciate most is the peace of mind they bring. I never have to worry about the stage or sound because I know they have it covered. They consistently help us look good, ensure the music sounds great, and contribute to the overall quality and professionalism of the festival experience. Their sound engineers are excellent and truly add to the atmosphere of the event. Temporary Kicks play an important role in helping us create an engaging and memorable experience for our audience, and I couldn’t be happier with their performance year after year.

From the point of view of the person planning the event, working with Temporary Kicks (we worked with Andrew Dalton) was such a great experience from start to finish. The sound at our event was awesome, and Andrew went above and beyond to connect with each band beforehand to make sure everything ran smoothly. The sound was mixed perfectly, and what really stood out was his ability to “read the room” and adjust sound levels on the fly. Vocals and instrumentation were balanced in real time to highlight the most important parts, bringing vocals or instruments forward exactly when they needed to shine. We had multiple bands from Noon to 11pm with a lot of moving parts, and Andrew handled all the transitions on and off stage seamlessly. Everything stayed on schedule, which made a huge difference. On top of all that, he’s just a pleasure to work with - professional, easy to communicate with, and full of great ideas. You can tell he really cares about making your event sound its best and run seamlessly. I’d absolutely recommend Temporary Kicks and Andrew Dalton to anyone looking for top-notch sound and a seamless, stress-free experience.

Cadillac Freedom Fest

Dave Dalton

As an event planner and music coordinator for Cadillac, Michigan’s annual 4th of July Freedom Fest there are hundreds of details swimming around in my head as our community event comes together; booking entertainment, securing parking, feeding advertising media, interacting with city officials for access to the venue, and even the mundane issues of making sure that enough electricity flows to the stage. The very last thing I need is a problem with the critical component of sound reinforcement and stage management. Everything comes to a virtual stop if the sound isn’t happening. This is why it’s important to have expert partners to handle the technical issues, both in the advance planning stage and in spur of the moment “happenstances” that threaten both nerve endings and The Show.

This is why, year after year, I depend upon Carey Limberg and Temporary Kicks to handle all of the minutia that comes with running a smooth production. Carey’s decades of experience working with potentially temperamental entertainers, venue crews, electrical misunderstandings and the like provide me with the confidence that I can focus on the other issues that arise during the day, and rely on Carey and his team to handle all the “stage stuff."

Think of Temporary Kicks as your “insurance policy” that the techy issues will be handled professionally and expediently. On time, communicative, responsive; using state of the art equipment and staging, for your room sized Corporate Meetings, Church events, or your really big outdoor week long festivals. When I want to remove the mistake factor from my event, when I want the award winning Best Ears in the Business behind the sound board, I trust Temporary Kicks. Coincidentally, so do the bands that I book. I get specific requests when contracting them: “Is Temporary Kicks doing the sound?”
It’s all about Peace of Mind.

I volunteer with a small nonprofit whose primary mission is to support the musical arts. To that end, we produce many music events often in out of the way places like beaches, parks, and occasionally farm fields. As you might imagine, providing high quality sound reinforcement in those places can be challenging. Great sound is important to us.

We’ve learned to rely on Temporary Kicks to deliver. Not only to meet, but exceed those challenges. Carey and his crew are more than sound techs - they are problem solvers. And just as important, they are dependable, personable, and easy to work with. Highly recommended!
